Sweet Magnolia Moon--A Sleep Center

If the evaluation confirms a sleeping disorder, a treatment plan will be discussed with you. The CPAP device shown above is effective in treating many types of sleep disorders.

Sleep Disorder Treatment

Your physician may be referring you to  Southern Neuroscience Center so that one of our neurologists can evaluate you for a sleep disorder.

Most of us think of snoring as a harmless but irritating disorder.  Snoring along with excessive day time sleepiness may mean that you have a sleep disorder called sleep apnea.

Sleep apnea which restricts the flow of oxygen to the brain is the most common form of sleep disorder.  Sleep apnea can be a “killer” itself or can cause other medical problems which may result in premature death.

Our neurologists conduct evaluations for sleep disorders. If you are diagnosed with a possible sleep disorder, our neurologist will refer you to Sweet Magnolia Moon--A Sleep Center which is an accredited diagnostic lab.

You will spend the night at the sleep lab under the supervision of a registered Polysomnographic Technician who monitors sleep and awake cycles.

The evaluation area is very comfortable and without distractions.

Dr. Nabih Alsheikh, our sleep specialist, will interpret your test.  If you are found to have sleep apnea, you will return to the Sweet Magnolia Moon Sleep Laboratory to be fitted with a CPAP device which will assure that the proper amount of oxygen is getting to your brain while you sleep.     Patients usually notice an immediate  improvement in their energy level and overall well being.

Please call our clinic at 601-268-5222, if you have a question regarding your appointment for sleep evaluation.

Out-Patient Diagnostic Testing
